The Technology Driving a US$2.1 Trillion Global Textile Market – And Aisunny Is Part of It

Published: 2025

The global textile supply chain is forecast to surpass US$2.1 trillion in trade by 2026, according to insights from Swiss consultancy Gherzi. This growth stretches far beyond apparel — a US$1.6 trillion sector — and includes the US$300 billion home textile market as well as the expanding US$230 billion technical textile industry.

As textile manufacturers accelerate investments in automation, efficiency, and sustainable production, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 in Singapore becomes the most important platform for discovering the technologies shaping the next decade of textile manufacturing.

This year, Aisunny Knitting Needles is proud to participate in the exhibition, showcasing our precision-engineered knitting needles designed for high-speed circular and flat knitting machines.

🔧 Fibre Production: Materials, Extrusion & Spinning Innovation

Global fibre consumption is expected to reach 125 million tons in 2026, comprising:

  • 61 million tons filament fibres
  • 50.4 million tons short staple fibres
  • 8.6 million tons long staple fibres

Polyester leads global usage, followed by cotton, polyamide, polypropylene, and advanced cellulosic fibres such as lyocell. Specialty fibres—wool, silk, aramid, carbon—remain essential for premium and performance-driven applications.

Of the total fibres produced, 112 million tons will be converted into yarns, reaffirming the strong demand from global weaving and knitting mills.

At ITMA ASIA + CITME, Halls 3 and 4 will feature:

  • Filament extrusion systems
  • Opening, blending, and carding technologies
  • Full ranges of spinning solutions: ring, open-end, and air-jet
  • High-efficiency winding systems
  • Testing instruments and quality-control systems

These innovations support mills targeting lower energy consumption, improved yarn regularity, and enhanced operational stability.

🧵 Textile Surface Production: Woven, Knitted & Nonwoven Technologies

By 2026, manufacturers will produce 133 million tons of textile surfaces, including:

  • 77 million tons of woven and knitted fabrics
  • 24 million tons of technical textiles from weaving, knitting, or braiding
  • 25 million tons of nonwovens
  • 7 million tons of composite reinforcements

At the exhibition:

  • Hall 2 will highlight weaving, braiding, and nonwoven machinery
  • Hall 5 will focus on circular knitting, flat knitting, warp knitting, and embroidery solutions

This is also where Aisunny Knitting Needles will present our advanced needle solutions tailored for:
✔ High-speed circular knitting machines
✔ Computerized flat knitting machines
✔ Technical textile applications
✔ Global OEM machine brands such as Mayer & Cie, Terrot, Orizio, Pai Lung, Fukuhara, and more

Our participation aims to support mills seeking improved output quality, reduced needle breakage, and higher knitting stability.

⚙️ Finishing, Printing & Automation for Modern Production Lines

Downstream processing technologies will fill Halls 6–8, including:

  • Dyeing and finishing machinery
  • Digital textile printing systems
  • Garment automation and smart handling equipment

Digitalisation and sustainability remain key investment areas. Exhibitors will highlight:

  • New-generation digital printers supporting on-demand and e-commerce-driven production
  • Automated recycling and sorting systems
  • AI-driven process monitoring and energy optimisation tools

These advancements help textile manufacturers enhance cost efficiency, meet global compliance standards, and reduce production waste.

🌐 ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025: A Global Platform — With Aisunny Onboard

The 2025 Singapore edition has confirmed 800+ exhibitors from 30+ countries, pushing the show area to 70,000 sqm.

Aisunny is honored to join this global gathering, presenting our precision knitting needle solutions to manufacturers seeking:

  • Higher machine stability
  • Longer needle lifespan
  • Improved fabric quality
  • Reduced downtime
  • Cost-efficient OEM needle sourcing

Our team will be available throughout the exhibition to provide technical consultation, product samples, and customized solutions for mills producing apparel fabrics, rib structures, jacquard designs, and technical knits.
